"I'm very sorry Courtney. I hate to be the bear of bad news, but it comes with the job," she said looking down at the scared girl. "You might want to sit down," the doctor cautioned. "SO here what happened. The hit broke many of his facial bones that we had to reconstruct and we had to push his should back into place. As for the head trauma, there was bleeding in his brain and we had to call in our top neaurologist to handle the situation. As of right now he is okay, but he is in a coma that we aren't exactly sure he will wake up from. Head injuries are the worst and if he does wake up he'd be lucky to ever play football again," the doctor said quitely. She hated doing this, but she wasn't going to sugar coat it. "If he doesn't wake up in the next few weeks, it will be up to his parents to keep him on life support or let him go," she murmured placing a hand on the girl's shoudler.

She took a deep breath nodded feeling some comfort when she put her hand on her shoulder. She couldnt take it, she threw her face in her hands and cried. Why did does everything like this always happen! His parents wouldnt be back for another week unless they were called wich they probably were. He was in a coma and may never wake up. She cried softly then stopped wiped her face and looked up"When can I go see him?"she asked her softly.

"Not right now I'm afraid he's still in critical condition, in the ICU. I'll ask some nurses and see when you can visit him," she said somenly. She watched the girl cry harder and the wrapped her arm around Courtney's shoulder. "You know what I think I can make an exception for you. Young love is something that I just can't stand in the way of," the doctor whispered. "Come on his room is on the top floor and he's being monitored twenty four hours, but I'm sure if I talk to my R.N. Katie she'll let it go," she reassured as she guided the crying girl into the elevator and up too room 509. "Here's his room. you may go inside," she said lokking through the window at the broken boy hooked up to all the machines. 'I just hope she can handle seeing that. Most people can't,' she thought skaing her head as she opened the door.
